The Lincoln Back Yard Burgers at 8500 Andermatt Drive, which has been open since 2005, is under new ownership. MATT RYERSON/Lincoln Journal Star

Henry Luo, who also owns the Coldstone Creamery in Grand Island, bought the franchise rights to the local Back Yard Burgers at 8500 Andermatt Drive in southeast Lincoln earlier this year.

Luo, who immigrated to the U.S. from China in 1992 and moved to Omaha in 2006, said he is a fan of Back Yard Burgers' food, and owning the restaurant made business sense because it is between his home in Omaha and the restaurant he owns in Grand Island.

Luo said that while he will focus on the single restaurant for now, he does have plans to expand. He said that within the next three years, he'd like to open another Back Yard Burgers somewhere in north Lincoln as well as three to four in Omaha.

The Lincoln Back Yard Burgers, which opened in August 2005, is the only one in Nebraska, and the company's CEO said in an interview last year that it is one of the 10 best-performing stores in the company.
